The Essential Women Foundation is a project designed to reach out to women of colour who have experienced Domestic Abuse, Domestic violence, Sexual assault. It is known that BAEM survivors are often invisible, not only to society, but also to the organisations and networks which aim to support them, This leads to them suffering from stigma and isolation. The foundation provides financial support to women and men with children transitioning from refuges to independent living.
According to Women’s Aid; Regardless of the experiences, women from black, Asian or minority ethnic communities are likely to face additional barriers to receiving the help that they need.
